Let's Polka!
For today, let's shift focus to another room in our home: Mackenzie's Room. Mackenzie is my daughter, and I absolutely adore the room that we have set up for her. It isn't quite finished yet, but we're getting close. I just added curtains (you guessed it, they're polka-dotted!) and wanted to show you the progress. These photos are definitely "In Progress" photos, as I haven't even had a chance to hem the curtains to the correct length yet...they are currently puddled on the floor, which isn't exactly my design cup of tea.
Here is a few photos of the room, BEFORE the curtains were added:

I apologize for the lack of large area photos, I don't have a lens currently that will allow me to take the wide angle shot I'd like, and the room is a little tight to back up enough to get everything I wanted in each shot. Here is the same window, after the curtain was added. These first couple are with the curtain pulled back:

Here are some "In Progress" photos, with the curtain hanging straight from the curtain rod:

That last one it is definitely evident that the curtains are in desperate need of being hemmed... I'm hoping to get to that this weekend.
I'm planning on doing a complete post on the decor in her room and the layout we have set up in there within the next day or two, so stay tuned. I know that it's hard to get a grasp on what the room looks like when all of the photos posted are focused on one window only. On a side note, however, isn't her rocking elephant completely adorable? That was a shower gift for Mackenzie from one of her Uncles :). It's a huge hit at our house, and you can get your own from KidKraft if you'd like!
P.S. Sorry about that odd smudge on the second to last photo...that is definitely a spot from the camera, and not actual spots on the wall. I didn't even notice them until I uploaded the photos to our computer. Strange!
